The New Repertory Theatre Board of Directors has decided to relaunch the theatre company in 2022. We began informing subscribers, donors, and other supporters this week of this happy news.
Over the last several months, New Rep’s Board has had numerous conversations with local artists, members of the BIPOC community, arts advocates, advisors, and supporters. The ideas that have emerged from those discussions have been incorporated into a relaunch framework that represents a renewed version of our mission to “speak powerfully to the vital ideas of our time.”
As our first step to relaunch, we are in the process of engaging a small team of experienced, proven artistic professionals who will work as a collaborative team to turn the framework we have produced into a sustainable operation moving forward. We eagerly anticipate announcing that team in the new year.
New Rep’s partnership with the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown will continue once we relaunch. In addition, we are also exploring the possibility of staging productions in novel locations appropriate for specific artistic projects.
We would like to thank all who have supported us during the pause we took this summer and fall, and we look forward to sharing more with you all soon.
