New Rep summerSTAGE2
Young artists discover themselves and have fun at summerSTAGE2, July 8-28, 2013.
This summer, students will perform in FAME, conceived and developed by David De Silva with book by Jose Fernandez, lyrics by Jacques Levy, and music by Steve Margoshes.
summerSTAGE2 is a unique program for serious students entering grades 8 through 12. Participants work hands-on with professional theatre artists to study, rehearse, and perform in a musical theater production. Students will perform in FAME, at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, July 26 through 28, 2013.
Students who successfully complete summerSTAGE2 will receive high priority for the Boston University Summer Theatre Institute upon application to that program in subsequent years.
summerSTAGE2 focuses on two different areas:
Conservatory Classes (weekdays 9am-12:30pm)
Mornings, students gain experience with acting warm-ups, followed by classes ranging from acting, scene study, voice/speech, and movement. On Fridays, students engage in workshops geared towards helping them support their craft and achieve personal goals.
Performing (weekdays 1pm-4pm)

Students need to prepare a one-minute monologue. Those who wish to sing may bring in a short song, including printed music for the accompanist. Roles will be assigned the following day.Summer Stage II takes place Mondays through Fridays, 9pm to 4pm* in the 3rd Floor Rehearsal Hall at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, in Watertown.
