What is the New Rep Annual Fund?

The New Rep Annual Fund supplies unrestricted general operating support for all our programs and productions.

How are Annual Fund gifts used?

Annual Fund gifts are a key source of support to maintain our annual operating budget. It supports the entire organization, from hiring local artists, to purchasing props, to paying for rehearsal space, to renting the van so our Classic Repertory Company can visit schools and senior centers. Support from the Annual Fund helps to ensure that all of our programming is able to thrive.

Is my Annual Fund gift tax-deductible?

Yes, your gift is tax-deductible to the extent of the law. For your records, our Federal Tax ID number is 22-2831171.

When is New Rep’s fiscal year?

New Rep’s fiscal year begins August 1 and ends July 31.

I can’t attend a performance. Can I donate the tickets?

Yes, if you are unable to attend a performance, you can donate the value of your ticket(s) to New Rep’s Annual Fund. Please call the box office at 617-923-8487 or email to arrange for a ticket donation. You will receive tax-deductible receipt for your donation in the mail after the show closes.

How do I set up a recurring gift?

To set up a monthly or quarterly recurring gift, visit our online donation portal. Enter your donation amount and select the option “this is a recurring donation.”  You will then be prompted to select when you would like the gift to reoccur (monthly, quarterly, or yearly) and if you would like to select a date to stop payment.

Are there any benefits for my donation?

All donors who contribute $50 or more will be listed in the playbill. We also offer select benefits for our major donors, those who contribute $250 or greater each fiscal year. To view a full list of these benefits, please click here.

New Rep has hundreds of subscribers and thousands of ticket buyers; does it really need Annual Fund contributions too?

We’d like to be able to tell you that ticket sales alone can sustain New Rep, but the truth is that individual donors make it all possible. Ticket sales only cover 60% of our costs, therefore we rely on the generous supporters of the Annual Fund to maintain the highest quality of theatre and sustain our annual operating budget.

Can my donation support a specific production?

If you are interested in supporting a specific show, playwright, or actor(s), you can show your enthusiasm by individually sponsoring that production. To become a Production Sponsor please contact Susan Hepler, Director of Development, at or call 617-923-7060 x8210.

Can I make an Annual Fund gift in honor or in memory of a loved one?

Yes, if you would like to make a donation in memory or in honor of someone, please add this request to the “notes” field in the online donation form. If you would prefer to send a check, please include written instructions of who you would like to honor or memorialize, and please also tell us the name and address to whom we can send a notification of your gift.
