EXPLORE OUR 2007-2008 DOWNSTAGE SEASON:
Up Close, On The Edge
As if the Mainstage isn’t exciting enough, you can also check out the Downstage @ New Rep series in our new Black Box Theater. Entering its second season, Downstage @ New Rep offers productions that put ideas front and center, in your face. For the coming season, we have added a fourth production to this series to include a contemporary rock musical, the return of last season’s smash hit, The Santaland Diaries, a duet of Pinter one-acts and a pair of plays that examine two different views of the Middle East conflict.
The 2007-2008 Downstage @ New Rep shows offer a deeper and grittier look into the theme of isolation and connection. These brave plays offer a unique emotional and spiritual experience for theatergoers and prove the staying power of theatre as an expressive art, in an intimate 90-seat theater. Dedicated to presenting challenging, controversial, and experimental works, Downstage @ New Rep’s season will undeniably inspire contemplation and conversation about our personal humanity and our shared world.
