New Rep Announces THREE VIEWINGS by Jeffrey Hatcher

October 25, 2011

(WATERTOWN, MA, Tuesday, October 25, 2011)–New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is pleased to announce Three Viewings by award-winning playwright Jeffrey Hatcher. Three Viewings will run from November 27 through December 18, 2011 in the Black Box Theater. The Press Opening will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 7:30pm.

Three Viewings is such a stimulating and witty piece of theatre,” states Harriet Sheets, Managing Director, New Repertory Theatre.  “The intimate setting of the Black Box Theater is ideal for our patrons to experience the powerful stories found in Hatcher’s play.”

Jim Petosa, the director, says “Through three separate narratives, Hatcher explores how love, money, and compassion define individual relationships and perceptions of life. I am thrilled to be working with such a talented cast and design team, and I am excited to see what we will discover as we collaborate as a team on this work.”

Three Viewings is directed by Jim Petosa. The cast features New Rep favorites Joel Colodner (Indulgences) as Emil, Adrianne Krstansky (afterlife: a ghost story, 2.5 Minute Ride, and Frozen) as Virginia, and introduces to the New Rep stage Christine Power (2011 Elliot Norton Award nominee for Outstanding Actress) as Mac.

In Three Viewings, award-winning playwright Jeffrey Hatcher explores love, money, and loss in a trio of mordantly witty narratives. An infatuated man goes to extraordinary lengths in order to win a woman’s heart; a jewelry thief with a hidden secret reclaims a family heirloom; and a widow confronts the repercussions of her late husband’s wheeling and dealing. Hatcher weaves these three poignant tales into an evening of remarkable storytelling that is sure to entice and captivate you.

New Repertory Theatre presents provocative and intelligent works of both established and emerging playwrights in an intimate setting that involves and engages the audience. New Rep has earned a reputation for dynamic productions that honor the writers and feature talented professional actors from the New England Theatre community as well as guest artists from around the U.S. New Rep has received Elliot Norton and IRNE Awards for outstanding acting, scenic design, directions, and production. Programming for New Repertory Theatre is supported in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
