New Rep Summer Studio presents "Exploring Musical Theatre: From Guys and Dolls to Wicked"
For Students entering grades 9-12
New Rep Summer Studio 2008 was a great success! From July 7th through August 1st, 13 High School students worked with our professional staff on improving their acting, singing, and dancing technique. Along the way, they also explored musical theatre history from the era of Guys and Dolls right up to current shows such as Wicked. And to top it all off, the students had fun and made some great new friends.
The program culminated on Thursday, July 31st with a Final Showcase, which was performed for family and friends. The students performed in group numbers such as "They Both Reached for the Gun" from Chicagoand "Run, Freedom, Run" from Urinetown, as well as solos and smaller group numbers such as "Another Hundred People" from Company, "I’m Not That Girl" from Wicked, and "Bosom Buddies" from Mame.
