THEIR VOICES WILL BE HEARD:
Artist Responses to the Israeli-Palestinian Situation

Each performance of these two plays, being performed in rotating repertory, will be followed by a post-show talkback with the actress and a member of the artistic staff of New Repertory Theatre. Additionally, we’ve planned enhancement events throughout the month of March.

Events include three staged readings (including a piece by our resident playwright, Meron Langsner), two screenings of films, and panel discussions with experts on various topics that address artists responses to the Israeli/Palestinian situation.

“No matter what side you come down to politically… is sure to strike sadly familiar chords.” – The New York Times

“Tirosh blows you to pieces in this true story” –Time Out New York

The first of these two plays, which will perform in repertory with each other, introduces Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old American killed while attempting to stop an Israeli bulldozer from demolishing a civilian home on the Gaza Strip. Through her journals and e-mails, hear her compelling quest to find truth and understanding in a complex situation. Pieces is the autobiographical account of Zohar Tirosh as she recounts her two years in the Israeli army. Written when she was 23, Zohar documents her two years in the Israeli army, recounting her emotional and intellectual path during these turbulent years in her country. Performed by the author, this play expertly complements My Name is Rachel Corrie.
