New Rep’s inaugural production at the Arsenal Center for the Arts will be the greatest love story ever told: William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. This classic story introduces the ancient feud between two powerful families, the Montagues and the Capulets. The hatred of the warring families is so devastating and so ingrained that the children of these bitter rivals must hide their love from the world and sacrifice the acceptance of their families for each other.
New Rep’s Producing Artistic Director
Rick Lombardo will direct this passionate, sexy, and timeless love story in a production that will explore he possibilities of New Rep's new home at the Arsenal Center for the Arts. Romeo and Juliet uncovers layers of human emotion— love, hate, loyalty, and vengeance— that confront every generation and that continue to touch our hearts 400 years after Shakespeare put pen to paper.
